#NewRelease: Fractured Fantasies: Vol. 2 by Torie James @Writergurl216 #PNR #Romance @13_below

In the burning lands of rapturous fulfillment and unrequited desire, one false step can lead down the path towards delicious destruction. Impassioned appeals, sinful seductions and fevered longings can often hide degrees of twisted tenderness but don’t be fooled. Not all prisons have bars, silence can be deadly and even the sweetest face conceals monstrous insanity. Tread lightly, choose well or find sexual satisfaction at the dead end of one-way street.
Book One | The Factory
A glittering citadel born from blood money and power tripping provides the perfect stage for its mysterious owner and his young, dazzling wife. Before the final act is called and the curtain falls, they’ll both be tested to the limits of their personal, moral compasses. And neither of theirs point true north.
Book Two | Nevermore
Newlyweds on a romantic, Spanish honeymoon find themselves battling against stereotypes after a short engagement leads to a much longer commitment. In the shadows of infatuation, however, lay the groundwork for a cruel coupling that even death cannot part.
Book Three | The Nomad
In a post-apocalyptic, dystopian future, one young warrior woman travels the world in search of help against The Great Evil. When her travels take her far underground to the lair of the last great Champion, she finds duty mixing with desire and a tender temptation that threatens her mission.

Excerpt (Pg-13):
The Maestro indulged her every whim and his own. He took to spending more and more time in her company, eschewing the company of his colleagues and female companionship. He adored her and she idolized him, knowing he could give her the life she dreamed of.
The Mobster and His Maeve.
Sometimes, during dinner, she'd look up and see sadness etched over his sharp features and it made her heart hurt for him, but he'd never answer when she asked what was wrong.
Then one night, he did.
"You're growing up, Maeve. You'll be leaving soon and looking for a nice young man who'll treat you right. There's a whole big world waiting out there for you. You need to see it, not stay locked up here with an old coot like me."
"You're not an old coot." Her fingers touched his arm, voice breathy and low. "I don't need to see the world. I don't need a nice young man. All I need is you." It was true. She'd decided long ago that someday she'd be his wife. "Please don't send me away."
The Maestro laid his hand over her own, long tapered fingers sliding between hers and squeezing gently. "I'd never send you away, Maeve. But there may come a day you'll want to leave."
Staring into his ebony eyes, she shook her head solemnly. "Never."
He chuckled at her confident bravado. "We'll see."
He leaned close, the spicy scent of his aftershave filling her head and for the briefest moment, she wondered if he might kiss her. The thought thrilled her, an unfamiliar surge of undefinable emotion causing her heart to slam violently against her ribcage. Her lashes fluttered down, chin tilting up delicately but when his lips touched her skin, it was her forehead that felt the warm, firm brush. That and nothing more.
He married her the day she turned 18.
They exchanged vows in the wedding chapel on the 13th floor of The Factory.
The bride wore white.
The dapper groom dressed in Armani's finest. Of course.
"There you go, Maeve. The girl who married me." The cool touch of the silver wedding band he'd slipped on her finger twinkled with a dusting of diamond chips. "Never take it off, sweetheart."
How odd he sounded, a steely command wrapped in pleading but then he kissed her and all other thoughts dissolved under the onslaught of burgeoning desire in the young woman. She'd dreamt of him touching her, making love to her, countless times. She expected fireworks, raging passion and unparalleled bliss.
Instead, her wedding night wavered between boring and frustrated. A few gropes of her breasts, one kiss and three or four furtive thrusts, and it was over. He'd kissed her cheek, rolled over and fell asleep.

Standard Author Interview

Can you tell us a little bit about where you are from? I live in Southern California, literally steps away from Disneyland and about 50 miles from Los Angeles. I can literally sit on my lawn at night and watch the fireworks from the Magic Kingdom.
What inspired you to write your first book? Funnily enough, a rather bad breakup with an ex. I do believe one of the last things he said to me was along the lines of I'd never be a 'real' writer because my writing sucked. Now, some of my nearest and dearest said that was mean. I say it's motivation.
Do you have a specific writing style? In other words, are you a plotter or a pantser? I'm a strange and scary combination of both. I never write in order but rather let the muse decide what mood and scene to tackle. Then I go back and put it all together.
If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor? Anne Rice. Seriously. I fangirl on that woman hardcore.
What book would we find you reading right now? Currently, I am deep into a book by Shelli Rosewarne called Scarlett Legacy.
What was the hardest part of writing your book(s)? Funnily enough, erotica is one of the hardest things for me to write. Which is why I undertook my Fractured Fantasies to begin with. I became comfortable with my paranormal romance and wanted to challenge myself to see if I could switch gears for a bit.
Do you have any advice to offer other writers? Don't quit. Please. I know it's a rough road, full of bumps and detours. It can get ugly and you will feel lost or misunderstood. But if you've got the passion, talent and drive, then you don't give up, don't give in. You get out there and you make the world sit up and take notice.

Torie James Bio and Social Media Links

Born on the planet Gallifrey in the constellation of Kasterborous,Torie is the illegitimate love child of Han Solo and  Daenerys Targaryen. Rescued by Gandalf shortly before her home planet was destroyed in the last days of the Clone Wars, she was raised in relative obscurity by her foster parents, Severus Snape and Pippi Longstocking. At the tender age of 113, she inherited the best little whorehouse in Texas and is rumored to be bringing Sexy Back. A self confessed chocoholic, she's been engaged to Willy Wonka despite gossip surrounding a lifelong affair with Bruce Wayne.

And clearly, she practices delusion on a daily basis.

The truth is, I'm just an overgrown kid with a vivid imagination who loves to write and share my crazy with the world. My future plans include, hopefully, buying a lovely Scottish castle and convincing Queen Elizabeth I that I'd make a fab addition to the Royal Family.

Three years ago, I finally got my 'brave' on and submitted a wee story about true love, honor, friendship and the magic within us all. That story was Timeless Night, the first book in a five book series I've named New Camelot. Since then, I've been lucky enough to have published Timeless Desire (Book 2 of New Camelot), Beauty and The Feast (A New Camelot Thanksgiving Novella) Ties That Bind (The Cloie Chronicles I), Fractured Fantasies (Valentine's Venom), Fractured Fantasies (Volume 1) and coming soon, Fractured Fantasies (Volume Two).
I live in Southern California, a stone's throw from Disneyland, with my family and the most ridiculously spoiled pets anyone could imagine. I wake everyday with the determination to make this life as random, quirky and beautiful as it can be.

He's rescued by Ruby and her father, who nurse him back to heath, because Carl isn't immune and nearly dies when he catches the virus. He tries to adapt to "Mother Earth", a planet run by robots, where everyone is either a breeder or a sterile worker. As time passes, he becomes more attached to Ruby. He doesn't know if he can leave Ruby to her fate, or if she'd consider leaving her family and everything she knows to follow him.

Excerpt:

"Wait a minute," Carl said. "What's the matter? Why the sour face?"
For a minute, he thought that she wouldn't answer. Then she looked at him squarely and said, "I saw you. I smiled at you, and you flinched. I know what you were thinking. You were thinking how awful it is I can't have children, and you were feeling sorry for me."
Carl took her by the arms. "Is that what you think?" he asked.
"Of course. You don't have to apologize, or feel sorry for me." She drew herself up. "I don't whine or moan about it now, and I never will," she added fiercely. "Even when I have to go away."
"Go away?" That didn't sound right. "Go where?"
Her face fell. "I forgot … you don't know anything. If you're sterile, you don't count here. I'm just an extra person on Earth. Sterile people are expected to become helpers. We work in schools, hospitals, or as nannies to help. We stay in special housing. I'm almost twenty, so I'll have to go soon." She shrugged. "That way, we don't get in the way of people who can marry and have children. I can't fall in love with anyone. It's forbidden."
Carl just gaped at her. She lifted her chin and looked at him, her expression infinitely sad. "The first time I set eyes on you, Carl Cadet, I thought my heart had stopped beating. You're the handsomest man I've ever seen, and there's something else about you. You're kind. I can tell. There's compassion in you. I kept thinking to myself that if only I wasn't sterile, I could easily fall in love with you." Her mouth twisted awry and she blinked back tears. "But I can't. So if I sound snappish or angry sometimes, it's because I still haven't quite come to terms with having to give up so much."
"I'm sorry." He could hardly breathe.
"Don't be. I'm alive, and I met you. And we're friends. That counts for a lot, doesn't it?" Somehow she managed to smile brightly.
He wanted to say something else, but he was struck by her nearness, by the scent of her skin, and by the way the sun lit up her short, ash-blond hair and made it glow. Instead, he found himself pulling her toward him, cupping her chin in his hands, and kissing her softly on the lips. His hands, he noted with surprise, were trembling.
There was a moment of silence while Ruby stood still, her face tilted up, her eyes closed. She shook herself loose and stepped back. "You didn't have to do that," she said.

Blitz: The Incorruptibles paranormal romance series by @SDWasleyAuthor #PNR @SensuousPromos

Blitz: The Incorruptibles paranormal romance series

To celebrate the release of Book 2, Fallout, we are today featuring The Incorruptibles paranormal romance series (new adult) by S.D. Wasley.

From Amazon bestselling author S.D. Wasley comes a new adult paranormal romance series, The Incorruptibles, perfect for lovers of Lauren Kate's Fallen and Jennifer L. Armentrout’s Obsidian. This new adult paranormal romance series centres on a group of apparently mismatched people who share a strange secret. Led by Cain Aleister, the group is meeting nightly in a forgotten underground chamber, safe from the prying eyes of the public – until Francesca (Frankie) Caravaggio explodes into their lives. Frankie has a chip on her shoulder and a dogged determination to find out what the big secret is. But could that determination be her downfall?

The Incorruptibles novels feature the stunning artwork of Finnmacc Artography as several charcoal, pen and ink illustrations throughout each novel. Book 1, Downfall is just 99c on Amazon and Book 2, Fallout, is now available for $2.99.

About Downfall, Book 1

Frankie’s cousin wants her to do three things this year:

1. Lose her inhibitions
2. Do something spectacularly stupid
3. Fall madly in love

Travelling was Frankie’s life. As the daughter of a big-name evangelist, she’s been able to feed her hunger for new sights throughout most of her teenage years. Then a hushed-up scandal gets her thrown off the tour circuit and stuck at her uncle’s house in the town of Augur’s Well.

Forced to repeat her failed senior year, it looks like a dismal existence for Frankie—until she’s invited to the bizarre meeting place of four mismatched people ... and falls hard for the fascinating, secretive Cain Aleister.

Furtive meetings in an underground chamber ... Latin words carved into a stone wall ... intense desire ... and a secret so elusive she’ll do almost anything to bust it open. Until now, Frankie never believed in grand passions—but that’s not the only one of her beliefs about to implode right before her eyes.

Looks like Frankie’s going to score three for three.

The one thing she knows for sure is that nothing will ever come between her and Cain again.

Then a stranger arrives in their midst, disrupting the solid loyalties in Cain’s group. This man has the very thing Frankie needs to unlock her powers, but the price is higher than she could have dreamed.

Can Frankie and Cain’s love survive the fallout?

Excerpt from Downfall:

At Gaunt House ruins, the night started much the same as usual: some quiet chit-chat, a game of Monopoly, a beer and some snacks. But then it happened again. Not long after I arrived, Cain had a private consultation with Liz. They disappeared into the cooler room while I was moving my little dog around the game board. When they reappeared Cain said he was going out for pizza and more beer. I mustered my courage and asked to tag along but he said he’d be quick and I should stay in the game. He was gone for forty minutes … an hour … an hour and twenty … an hour and forty… Over and over I asked the other three where he could be but they just shrugged, elaborately nonchalant.

“Could he have got in an accident?” I asked.

“He’s fine, Frankie,” Jude assured me.

“It doesn’t take two hours to get pizza!”

“He’ll be back,” Owen said. “I’ll have Trafalgar Square, Liz.”

I doubted myself. They were all so casual. Maybe there really was no secret. The Monopoly game was long finished when Cain finally returned around eleven … with no pizza or drinks. He feigned forgetfulness when I demanded to know why, and I thought I saw the others hiding their smiles. What the heck? Was this some kind of initiation? Cain headed for the cooler room so I pursued. He fished in the cooler and cracked open a sugary drink, slamming it down in what must have been record time.

“Where did you go?” I asked.

He reached for a second soda. “Nowhere.”

“Tell me.”

He took a big gulp from the new can and went for the plastic crate where spare packets of chips and snacks were kept. There was just one small bag of nuts left, which he tore into and finished in one go. I stared. Cain made as if to head back to the main chamber.

“Hey,” I snapped.

Cain stopped and looked at me, a strange darkness coming into his eyes.

“Where …?”

I didn’t finish because at that moment he stepped in close to me, just inches away, looking intently down into my face. My first instinct was to back away but I fought it and held my ground, knees beginning to shake.

“Francesca,” he said in a voice so soft I didn’t know whether it was tender or menacing. “Stop asking questions.”

Then he was gone. I let out a breath and was obliged to spend a couple of minutes regaining my presence of mind before I went back out to join the group.
