Book Description:
Emma
Who I am and all I believe is marred with just one glance into angry, steel blue eyes. He seems to control my air, my ability to breathe. He makes me crave everything I know is a sin. Pure becomes tainted and lines are blurred. It's my fault; I'm the one who isn't strong enough. I've been damaged...broken. Breck's words haunt me...'There's a consequence for every choice you make.'
Breck
I've had so many women I can't even remember over half of their names, but none of them are mine; I make damn sure of that. I take what I desire and never look back. I don't need or want anyone, ever...not until I met Emma. Those eyes bore into what's left of my soul and her touch sears me, weakens me. I want to hate her for that. She is my ruin...my sweetest hell.
Disclaimer: Intended for readers 18+ due to strong language, mature scenes, and some violence.
Top Ten Absolutely Must Have Characteristics for a Book Boyfriend Who I will love.
1. Loyalty
2. Willing to go through hell and back to save his girl
3. Intelligence
4. A healthy sense of self-confidence
5. Badass fighting skills
6. A romantic side underneath his badass exterior
7. Sense of humor
8. Fierce protectiveness
9. Willingness to let his girl take the lead without any jealous self-insecurity bull****
10. No one controls him, but the one he loves owns him unconditionally…and he knows it.
I love reading books with alpha males who make my heart palpitate and quiver, so when I started writing, I knew the men I create for my novels must have these ten characteristics. So far with my books, Kas, from The Rain Trilogy, is my favorite, but Breck, from Ash to Steele, is a close second. They are two very different men but they share the core of the qualities above, including living for and being willing to die for the one they love.
Kas is my idea of the perfect book boyfriend, and man, in all ways. He’s tough yet sensitive, protective to the point of a little bossy at times, gives his heart and soul to Raina, can kick some ass, and refuses to back down or give up when Raina’s past comes back to haunt her.
Breck is a tattooed bad boy who doesn’t give a damn what people think of him…until he meets Emma. Yes, Ash to Steele is another story of bad boy meets good girl but there’s a series of twists of turns, personal demons and redemption, tears, angst, love, humor, and supporting characters which would be awesome if they could be real life BFFs, that gives it a uniqueness that I hope you will enjoy.
Twenty-four year old Breck Steele possesses all of the must have top ten characteristics and a little to spare on some, especially number four. He’s cocky as hell and, to be honest, hard to like at first…but he grows on you. Hidden underneath his player ways is a heart of gold; he just doesn’t allow many to see it. I LOVE it when a tough guy shows his sensitive side; seriously, I just melt! When Breck finally allows Emma to see who he really is inside, my tears stained my cheeks while I wrote those scenes. Here’s a sneak peek:
Gently pushing her to where I can see her beautiful eyes, I shake my head in disbelief, “Nothing in hell could have kept me from coming to you, tonight, Emma.”
The agony in her eyes bleeds my soul. A small tear slides down her cheek and she goes to wipe it away, embarrassment and sorrow stripping the light that usually shines so brightly in her eyes. For that alone, the man should die. Pulling her back into my arms, I hold her as if the flow of the blood in my veins depends on her touch. When her phone died, so did I. Without her, I’m nothing. When I first realized that truth, it made me feel weak and ashamed at how strongly I need her. Now, I have no shame left. I need Emma like I need to breathe. She is my air. It’s as simple as that.
I hope you fall in love with Breck and Emma in Ash to Steele J.
