Book Description:

To save her soul, he’ll let her burn.

Grayce has been on the run for years. Having escaped an abusive relationship with a violent psychopath, she is trying to rebuild her life one small step at a time. Things are going well until Zander crosses her path, badass and sexy as hell. His presence awakens heated desires she long ago buried. Last thing Grayce wants is a man, and the way her body reacts to Zander scares her more than the threat of being found.

Tyr will do anything to get his little dove back. She is a Beacon, and her raw, burning energy gives him power and strength. More than the evil that already compels him. But a blond giant of a man hovers protectively around her. No matter. He’ll play with him too.

When Zander rescues Grayce from Tyr’s first attempt to reclaim her, he reveals his superhuman abilities. Power that Grayce also has, but has yet to understand. As predestined soul mates, Zander must help Grace control her rage before her fire threatens to destroy everyone and everything in her path. But his true challenge is more than that—to show her it’s possible to trust and love again.

excerpt

With bare hands splayed across the open wounds, Grayce squeezed her eyes closed and prayed for control. Begged. Pleaded to a God she’d never before acknowledged.

Chelsea needed time to get away.

Grayce prayed for Chelsea, prayed for Zander. Prayed they wouldn’t die because of her.

Her wits slipped away. Raw emotion drove her actions now. Blood covered her arms. Her lips throbbed with the remnants of his kiss. A kiss that felt like goodbye. He couldn’t die. The primal need to protect him overwhelmed her senses.

“Take me,” she implored. “Take me instead.”

Hell’s own fire coursed through her veins. Savage. Brutal. Pissed off.

She would’ve sold her soul at that moment to keep him alive. Zander didn’t deserve this. She did.

Earth and grass swirled and gyrated, turned to ash around her. Her small fingers stretched across his bloodied and shredded skin. Her insides boiled. Her skin bubbled and vibrated with indignant protest.

He said he loved her, now he was dying. Why? What kind of cruel, sadistic joke was this, anyway? Violent trembles overtook her as an earthquake made its way through her body from the inside out.

“I will not let you die.”

Did you always wanted to be a writer? If not what did you want to be?

Thank you so much for having me! I’ve loved writing for as long as I can remember. Stories, poems, songs, it didn’t matter. Growing up, my dream was to be an actress or a singer. I can’t get on stage or in front of people without fainting and I cry whenever I sing. So, it’s writing for me!

When did you first consider yourself a “writer”?

I’m still struggling with that. I’m writing full time now, but when people ask me what I do, I tell them I’m a stay-home mom, out of habit.

How long did it take to get your first book published?

Aflame is my first book. I sent it to a few agents and publishers and was so excited to get responses to my queries, even though they were rejections. I only queried for about three months before I got my first contract offer. From the time I signed with Lyrical Press, it took a little over a year for Aflame to “hit the stands”.

What is the name of your latest book, and if you had to summarize it in less than 20 words what would you say?

My latest book is Aflame. Zander has to save Grayce from herself before he can stop the madman that’s hunting her down.

Who is your publisher? Or do you self-publish?

Lyrical Press, an imprint of Kensington Publishing. Love, love, love them so much!

How long does it usually take you to write a book, from the original idea to finishing writing it?

Aflame, Apotheosis Book One, took me about a year and a half to write. I wasn’t writing full time when I started. It was my first book, and I revised it about three million times before I sent it off into the world. Aglow, which is book two, took me about a year to write, but I started it while I was working on Aflame and writing How to Kill Your Boss. I’m hoping with each book, I’ll get a bit faster. I’m learning as I go.

What can we expect from you in the future? ie More books of the same genre? Books of a different genre?

I’ve planned four books in the Apotheosis series. How to Kill Your Boss started as a stand alone erotic, suspense romance. I had so much fun with the characters though, I’m pretty sure there will be more.

What genre would you place your books into?

Aflame is a paranormal romance. It could also fall under the fantasy/sci-fi genre.

What made you decide to write that genre of book?

Aflame didn’t start out as a paranormal story. As I wrote Grayce, her issues were so deep, I knew she needed a larger than life hero to save her from herself. It morphed into a paranormal from there.

Do you have a favorite character from your books? And why are they your favorite?

I don’t have a favorite character. That’s like asking me to pick a favorite child. It’s just not possible. I do love writing the baddies, though. They’re so much fun. Sometimes I go too dark with the baddies and have to tone it down in the edits.

Do you have a certain routine you have for writing? ie You listen to music, sit in a certain chair?

I don’t have a routine. I write best when nobody is home and the house is quiet. I can’t have the television or radio on. Sometimes I’ll play certain music to get me in the frame of mind I need to be in, but then I turn it off so I can write.

Do you read all the reviews of your book/books?

I swore that I wasn’t going to read any reviews for Aflame. But it’s my first book, and I want people to like it so I peek at them from time to time. Okay, that’s a lie. I check several times a day. Aflame only has a few reviews so far and they’ve all been good. I think when I get my first negative review, then I’ll stop reading them. I’m too sensitive.

Do you choose a title first, or write the book then choose the title?

I always have a title in mind when I start. But, they can change. Aflame is the third title I’d picked for that story.

How do you come up with characters names and place names in your books?

Usually, the names just pop-up in my head. I’ve researched a few names to fit characters based on their heritage.

Are there any hidden messages or morals contained in your books? (Morals as in like Aesops Fables type of "The moral of this story is..”)

There are. I’m not telling though. I think that should be for the reader to discover.

Which format of book do you prefer, eBook, hardback, or paperback?

I love to read in bed. I prefer my Nook because I can enlarge the font and don’t have to wear my glasses. Then I can read myself to sleep.

Your favorite food is?

Cheese! I love cheese. And pretty much anything my Sexy Boyfriend cooks. He’s an amazing chef!

headshot_reworkKrissy is a full time writer, reader and lover of all things romance.

As a child surrounded by the great outdoors, life was full of adventure that fueled an overactive imagination and ignited a passion for storytelling. Whether it be dolls, or running free through the wooded areas surrounding her home, playtime always included a tormented villain, a damsel in dis-tress and a larger than life hero.

After relentless encouragement from friends and family, she finally put the characters in her head to pen and paper. The only thing she loves more than curling up with a steamy romance novel, is cozying up to her desk and writing her own sexy adventures to share with others.
