Janessa Rowe is a twenty one year old college girl with little respect for other people. She’s a rich, spoiled brat of a girl who gets her kicks out of humiliating others. When she discovers that her boyfriend of three years has in fact engaged in a physical relationship with someone else, Janessa will stop at nothing to get a little payback. Even if that means using her new rival’s disgruntled fiancée to get what she wants.
Dakota Blackwater is everything Janessa is not. He’s kind, sweet, gentle, and a stand-up guy all in all, but when his girlfriend’s betrayal hurts more than his pride, he agrees to take part in a plan that will test both their self-restraints and their feelings for one another.
Problems arise, however, when Janessa’s interest for Dakota shifts from being a pawn to achieve her ultimate goal, to potential lover. After having her heart broken in the past, the last thing she wants is to get involved in matters of the heart, but how can she follow through with her plan when the more time she spends with Dakota, the less she cares about getting payback? Sooner rather than later they are forced to confront the reality that their game has slowly transformed into something else and that what seemed like a scheme to exact revenge, now comprises both their hearts in ways neither of them anticipated.

Bio: Janessa Rowe is a young woman used to being able to impose her will on others. She’s determined, up-front to the point of being cruel, and has little patience when it comes to dealing with problems that are not her own. Having been forgotten by her only living relative after a series of tragedies, Janessa finds solace in seeking attention from others even if it’s not in the most appropriate ways. She has more enemies than she does friends, but in spite of her countless diva moments, she cares very deeply for the few friends she does have and would do anything for them.
Describe yourself what is your worst and best quality?
My worst quality? I don’t even think I have any. Okay. Well, maybe that’s not entirely true. People tell me I’m conceded, and downright mean. Personally, I think they’re just jealous.
What is the one thing you wish other people knew about you?
That I’m not as hot-tempered as they make me up to be. Of course, it would help if I limited the amount of insults that come out of my mouth every day.
What is your biggest secret something no one knows about?
That, I can’t, and I won’t, talk about. Sorry.
What are you most afraid of?
Falling in love.
What do you want more than anything?
To fall in love and not end up hurt.
What is your relationship status?
Happily single.
How would you describe your sense of fashion?
I’m a fashion diva. I love designer clothes, shoes, bags. You name it.
How much of a rebel are you?
I do what I want. I say what I want with complete disregard of others. Does that count as being rebellious?
What do you considered to be your greatest achievement?
Resuming my life after my mother’s death. Nothing has been easy for me since, but I have tried to do the best with what I have.
What is your idea of happiness?
A huge shopping spree. Nothing takes my mind out of the gutters more than a trip to my favorite designer stores.
What is your current state of mind?
Calm. I think. Well, I am right now anyway.
What is your most treasured possession?
The only thing I treasure is the good memories I have, which are not many.
What is your most marked characteristic?
Some would say my large, blue eyes.
What is it that you, most dislike?
People like me.
Which living person do you, most despise?
Do I have to pick just one? Because I’d have to name a few and I don’t think we have the time.
What is your greatest regret?
Trusting all the wrong people.
What is the quality you most like in a man?
Frankness. Sincerity. Honesty. Nothing beats that.
What is the quality you most like in a woman?
Peppiness, I guess.
Who is your favorite hero in fiction?
Don’t have one.
Which living person do you most admire?
My best friend, Audrey Yates.
If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?
I don’t really want to admit this aloud, but since you’ve put me on the spot then I guess I have to be honest myself and confess that my nasty attitude has to change. Not that I can guarantee that it will.
What is your motto?
Live. Laugh. Love.
