Welcome to Darkest Cravings, tell us a little bit about yourself?

*We both live in League City, TX with our husbands and kids. We have been friends and co-workers for so long that we finish each other’s sentences and answer to either name. We share a love for Romance novels, sweet white wine, and tattooed rock stars. We have written five novels and one novella together.

When did you first consider yourself a “writer”?

*We truly knew that we were writers when we sold our second novel in a two-book deal. Getting our first novel published was awesome, but we couldn’t help but wonder if was a fluke, or if we could really do it again. Selling our series solidified it!

Writing adult fiction isn’t for everyone, how did you end up writing for the toughest audience?

*Our series was written as Young Adult Paranormal Romance, but that being said, we’ve heard from many of our readers and most of them have been adults. We both started out reading YA, so we weren’t all that surprised that adults were reading our work. Our characters are in their late teens and are put into some pretty adult situations. We always wanted our novels to read like Adult Romances, and, apparently, they do.

Most of the intimidating parts of being an adult fiction writer is the steamy scenes, how did you overcome the “stage fright”?

*Try writing those scenes and having to keep them somewhat clean. Our first few attempts sent us into hysterics. We laughed so hard, we thought that they might actually kick us out of Starbucks. After we got the hang of it, we noticed that with each book those scenes were getting steamier and steamier. Maybe we should start writing some adult novels! You never know.

Which fictional character would you like to go on a date with? Why?

*Aiden! He’s got it all. He’s tall, built, gorgeous, and funny. Funny guys are the best. All Aiden’s missing are some tattoos!

What was the first adult fiction novel that you read? What was your reaction?

*Book one of the Dark Hunter series by Sherriyn Kenyon, Fantasy Lover. Thought it was awesome, and read the next 7-8 back-to-back.

Your favorite adult fiction book is-?

*Anything by Kristan Higgins.

Your favorite Author is-?

*We both love John Green!

We all have a treasured possession, what is yours?

*Staci – I’m embarrassed to say this, but it’s my Gucci purse. I love that bag.

*Sara – A special letter from my dad.

Are your characters based on real people or did you create them from scratch?

*All of our characters are completely made up. We couldn’t imagine writing about people we really know. It’s more fun to create them just the way we want them.

Do you think adult fiction have reached its full potential yet, or are we still in for a huge surprise?

*Writing is always evolving, and with the booming eBook industry, we believe the best is yet to come.

Do you think adult fiction helps improves relationships?

*Well, it certainly gives you some ideas that’s for sure. Improves relationships? No idea, but it helps you take a break from reality for a while and that’s got to be healthy.

If you have to pitch adult fiction to someone that’s too shy to read it, what would you pitch?

*Start at what you’re comfortable with. Maybe starting with something like Fifty Shades is too much. Try a nice rom-com.

What is your motto?

*Everything is better with coffee!
