Authorcage

Today in author cage we have Elle Jefferson, author of The At Death It Begins series. We would like to thank Elle for stopping by and sharing with us.

Welcome to Darkest Cravings, tell us a little bit about yourself?

Let's see I'm a stay-at-home mom of two. When I'm not busy with that (which isn't much) then I can be found writing, sewing or crafting or enjoying time with family.

When did you first consider yourself a “writer”?

After I finished the first draft of At Death It Begins. I was like whoa I just wrote an entire book.

Writing adult fiction isn’t for everyone, how did you end up writing for the toughest audience?

Most of the intimidating parts of being an adult fiction writer is the steamy scenes, how did you overcome the “stage fright”? I rewrote them enough times that the steam no longer fogged up my glasses so to speak. Though they are still my favorite scenes. I think in books like in real life we all love the firsts, especially the first kiss. There's the anticipation, the fear and the desire all boiling as two lovers lean in slowly wanting to savor every second of it.

Which fictional character would you like to go on a date with? Why?

That's easy, Mr. Darcy. Mr. Darcy becomes more delectable with every re-read. He's not a man of words but a man of action. Even after being shunned by Elizabeth he still saved her reputation from ruin by her little sister and Mr. Wickham. Plus I'm a sucker for mutton chops.

Your favorite Author is-?

J.K. Rowling

We all have a treasured possession, what is yours?

Monster High/Barbie doll collection

Are your characters based on real people or did you create them from scratch?

My characters aren't based on anyone I know. I think it be to awkward if they were. Imagine writing a scene where you have your best friend kissing your brother? Too weird.

Do you think adult fiction have reached its full potential yet, or are we still in for a huge surprise?

I think as long as creativity is around we will continue to be surprised.

Do you think adult fiction helps improves relationships?

Um, I can't say.

If you have to pitch adult fiction to someone that’s too shy to read it, what would you pitch?

The idea that reading adult fiction allows you to meet knew people without the fear of rejection.

What is your motto?

Live and let live.
